The idea for Brains and Beyond was ignited in a school club at RISE Institute on the 14th of November, 2024, when I was in eighth grade. Ms. Susan Eslami, my biology teacher, assigned students in a club to brainstorm a business idea. I tossed around options such as a baking business, a subscription-based community newsletter, and a community trash cleanup organization. When I thought of a problem that I was passionate about solving, I thought of poor grades. In the United States, “forty-four percent of public school students began [the] 2023-24 year behind grade level in at least one academic subject,” (Institute of Education Sciences.) I pitched my idea to my teacher and began my journey. After a year and a half of careful planning, hard work, and dedication, I present to you…Brains and Beyond! I believe that with proper coaching and tutoring from fellow students close in age, struggling students can drastically improve their grades and learning.
